Diplomacy and International Relations: St. Dominique Launches Its Model United Nations Conference!

In this spring season of renewal and amidst a flurry of international news, the St. Dominique MUN* Club is hosting a United Nations conference simulation on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at its premises located at 30 Avenue Fouchet in Pau.

Aimed at providing an introduction to the subject, all high school students in grades 10, 11, and 12 from the region are invited to register and participate in this adventure, with no prior experience required.

But what is it all about?

It is a simulation where students take on the roles of delegates from various countries and attempt to solve current global issues from the perspective and policies of their assigned country. They will engage in discussions, debates, and negotiations with other delegates on key topics and challenges of our world today, such as cryptocurrencies, human rights, the Arctic, and more.

The event also has a charitable aspect, with a portion of the registration fees being donated to the Red Cross in support of the Ukraine crisis.

*The Saint Dominique Model United Nations Club, “Club MUN St Do.” This project aims to enable students to acquire extensive general knowledge, develop an open mind, and practice public speaking in a foreign language within the framework of preparing for and participating in a United Nations conference simulation with over 150 other international high school students, when health conditions permit.
